How we write and test our guides
Everything on this site is written by Anmol Kulshreshtha, who makes ScreenCameo. Here is how a blog post, free tool or comparison gets made, and what you can expect from it.
Every step is tested on a Mac.
How-to steps are followed one by one on a Mac running the macOS version named on the page. Screenshots are real captures from that Mac, not mockups. When a page gives a number, such as a file size or how long a conversion took, we measured it and say on which Mac and browser.
Free tools run in your browser.
The free tools process files on your own computer. They don't upload your files, and each tool page explains how it works and how you can check that it sends nothing. Each tool is tested with real screen recordings before it's published.
Comparisons say where others are better.
We make ScreenCameo, so we're not neutral. Comparison pages name the day every competitor fact was checked, link to the sources, and say plainly where another app is the better choice. We don't rank ScreenCameo first by default, and there are no affiliate links on this site.
How we use AI.
AI tools help with research and first drafts. Every page is then checked against the app itself and the cited sources, edited, and approved by Anmol Kulshreshtha before it's published. Pages written this way say so at the bottom.
Dates mean something.
A page shows when it was published, and "Updated" only when its content really changed. If you find a mistake, email support@screencameo.com and it gets fixed.
